I. Membership Drive: Material has already been sent to your building. Please follow carefully the instructions on Mikelann’s green bulletin. Also, be mindful of teachers who are assigned to your building after the membership drive ends. They may be newly assigned/hired, and perhaps no one has approached them about enrolling in AEA.
II. Deductible Clarification: We may have stated earlier that office visit charges are applied to the new deductibles that take effect October 1 ($100 single, $200 family). If we did, we misspoke. The only charge that applies to office visits is the $10 co-pay. After that, the office visit is paid at 100%. Deductibles apply only to hospitalization and major medical charges.
III. New In-service Provisions: Because of the lateness of the secondary day, we’ve agreed to allow the newly negotiated after school workshop sessions to begin no later than 4:00. Also, keep in mind that this is the first year for this program, so there may be some glitches along the way.
Tutors who work on Fridays and wish to take advantage of the in-service opportunities are expected to complete 3 hours of professional development per semester.
IV. Building Captains Needed: We need a captain to organize the Making Strides Walk in each building. We will be hosting a ½ day meeting to go over the details with captains. More later.
V. ATPAC: Please urge members to participate in the ATPAC collection during the membership drive. We expect that all funds collected this year will go to the levy effort.
