I.                   Levy Campaign: Volunteers began calling likely voters this week. The number calling has been good, but could be better. East and Ellet clusters are scheduled to call next week. Callers do not need to commit to the entire 2 ˝ hours…every call helps.

Our PAC has given an initial $10,000 to the campaign and will be contributing more.

We will need more volunteers to walk and drop literature as we get closer to Election Day.

II.                School Board Endorsements: We have endorsed four candidates: incumbents Paul Allison and Linda Omobien, and first-time candidates James Hardy and Allan Markey.

III.             “Hands Off Our Health Care” Coalition: AEA has joined this coalition in order to try to head-off a state-wide health care plan for school employees. This concept surfaced in the budget bill passed last summer. See Random Notes for additional info.

IV.            Health Care Snafu: A minor misapplication of negotiated language under prescription coverage and deductibles will likely be resolved within the next week.

V.               New Contract: We still haven’t completed reviewing the new contract language. We are hoping to be able to post the new Agreement on the web by the middle of November.

VI.            Strides Walk Set for Sunday: All but a handful of buildings were able to find a captain for the Walk. From all indications, the fund raising is going well.
